Monday marked the first official meeting between President Joe Biden of the United States and King Charles at Windsor Castle. King Charles and President Biden were briefed on the Climate Finance Mobilisation Forum's discussions about how to better encourage big business and private finance to help combat the climate crisis inside the Green Drawing Room of the royal residence.
King Charles extended a handshake to Biden when his vehicle arrived at Windsor Castle. After that, they climbed a few flights of stairs to a platform
where they could observe the Welsh Guards and observe a band perform the anthems of both nations.
Yet, there was some theory that Biden broke imperial convention by nonchalantly putting his hand on Ruler Charles' during their trade.
King Charles on the other hand, was "entirely comfortable" with Biden touching the monarch's back, as confirmed by a Buckingham Palace source. What a brilliant image of warmth and love it was between both the people and their countries," the source says.
That's what the source adds — notwithstanding a few cases running against the norm — it was with regards to the right convention that the President, 80, strolled before the Lord, 74, during the review of the praiseworthy watchman.
