Jenna Talackova was eliminated from Miss Universe in 2012 for concealing a secret: she had been conceived a man. However, Donald Trump intervened to save her. At the time, the 45th president was a co-owner of Miss Universe, and he wanted to help her. He described Talackova's attempt to compete in his beauty pageant's Canadian heat as "a big, big story."
His defense of her sounds and looks like any other video from Donald J. Trump's desk in many ways. In Trump Tower, the future president sits there and speaks to the camera. His hair, skin, teeth, tie, and shirt all fall somewhere between ivory and aureate. He rants about current events using a syntax and gesticulation that we are all familiar with.
He comments, "The story about the contestant who wanted to be Miss Universe by traveling through Canada, very interesting." We let her in, we should find out what occurs, perhaps she'll get along nicely, perhaps she will not... It'll be exceptionally intriguing to see what occurs. She must win the Miss Universe contest if she is to win for any reason.
Talackova, who underwent gender reassignment surgery when she was 19 years old, found fearless support in the form of Gloria Allred, a well-known lawyer who has spent decades advocating for women's causes, typically winning. This was 2012, so everything was milder.
"It isn't just about her having the option to contend," Allred said at that point. " Jenna is advocating for herself and others. She doesn't maintain that this sort of separation should be looked by any other person."
All those who hadn't considered Trump an LGBTQIA+ ally were surprised when he ordered a change in the rules. Miss Universe will now accept transgender competitors. Additionally, Talackova would be eligible for the organization's flagship global competition if she wins in Canada. Michael Cohen, Trump's attorney at the time, insisted, "Nobody is giving in." Mr. Trump wishes Talackova, like all of the other contestants, success.
Over 10 years after the fact, the story of Jenna Talackova has turned into an abnormal one for Trump as he designs one more attack on the White House. This week, Rikkie Valerie Kolle, a 22-year-old transgender woman who became the first transgender woman to win Miss Netherlands, was covered by news outlets all over the world. She will now represent her country at Miss Universe in December.
