Omkara is a Hindi film released in 2006. Adapted from Shakespeare's Othello it is written and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Normally Bollywood movies are based on fiction, sentimental drama and love seeking lovers fighting with their parents, trying to break the taboos of society. It is not the first time on the silver screen that a writer and director Vishal Bhardwaj taken a bold step to present real life characters with their real life emotions. Although he is adapting stories from Western classic literature yet beautifully interpret them in Eastern environment. The best thing about Vishal Bhardwaj's movies is that they are not only the translation of English script rather converted into local environment to make it possible for the common people attach these feelings with themselves.
