تو رنگ ہے غبار ہیں تیری گلی کے لوگ

تو پھول ہے شرار ہیں تیری گلی کے لوگ

تو رونق حیات ہے تو حسن کائنات

اجڑا ہوا دیار ہیں تیری گلی کے لوگ

تو پیکر وفا ہے مجسم خلوص ہے

بدنام روزگار ہیں تیری گلی کے لوگ

روشن ترے جمال سے ہیں مہر و ماہ بھی

لیکن نظر پہ بار ہیں تیری گلی کے لوگ

دیکھو جو غور سے تو زمیں سے بھی پست ہیں

یوں آسماں شکار ہیں تیری گلی کے لوگ

پھر جا رہا ہوں تیرے تبسم کو لوٹ کر

ہر چند ہوشیار ہیں تیری گلی کے لوگ

کھو جائیں گے سحر کے اجالوں میں آخرش

مزاج ہم سے زیادہ جدا نہ تھا اس کا

جب اپنے طور یہی تھے تو کیا گلہ اس کا

وہ اپنے زعم میں تھا بے خبر رہا مجھ سے
اسے گماں بھی نہیں میں نہیں رہا اس کا

وہ برق رو تھا مگر وہ گیا کہاں جانے
اب انتظار کریں گے شکستہ پا اس کا

چلو یہ سیل بلا خیز ہی بنے اپنا
سفینہ اس کا خدا اس کا ناخدا اس کا

یہ اہل درد بھی کس کی دہائی دیتے ہیں
وہ چپ بھی ہو تو زمانہ ہے ہم نوا اس کا

ہمیں نے ترک تعلق میں پہل کی کہ فرازؔ
وہ چاہتا تھا مگر حوصلہ نہ تھا اس کا

وہ ہم سفر تھا مگر اس سے ہم نوائی نہ تھی

وہ ہم سفر تھا مگر اس سے ہم نوائی نہ تھی 

کہ دھوپ چھاؤں کا عالم رہا جدائی نہ تھی 

نہ اپنا رنج نہ اوروں کا دکھ نہ تیرا ملال 

شب فراق کبھی ہم نے یوں گنوائی نہ تھی 

محبتوں کا سفر اس طرح بھی گزرا تھا 

شکستہ دل تھے مسافر شکستہ پائی نہ تھی 

عداوتیں تھیں، تغافل تھا، رنجشیں تھیں بہت 

بچھڑنے والے میں سب کچھ تھا، بے وفائی نہ تھی 

بچھڑتے وقت ان آنکھوں میں تھی ہماری غزل 

غزل بھی وہ جو کسی کو ابھی سنائی نہ تھی 

کسے پکار رہا تھا وہ ڈوبتا ہوا دن 

صدا تو آئی تھی لیکن کوئی دہائی نہ تھی 

کبھی یہ حال کہ دونوں میں یک دلی تھی بہت 

کبھی یہ مرحلہ جیسے کہ آشنائی نہ تھی 

عجیب ہوتی ہے راہ سخن بھی دیکھ نصیرؔ 

وہاں بھی آ گئے آخر، جہاں رسائی نہ تھی
