Rose Byrne Would ‘Absolutely’ Be Onboard for a Bridesmaids Sequel

Rose Byrne Would ‘Absolutely’ Be Onboard for a Bridesmaids Sequel

Rose Byrne is open to a Bridesmaids 2 sequel if it comes along. The Platonic actress stated to PEOPLE that "if all the girls were in," she would "absolutely" star in a sequel. Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, Wendi McClendon-Covey, Melissa McCarthy, and Ellie Kemper also starred alongside Byrne in the smash comedy from 2011.

Annie (Wiig), who is struggling financially and emotionally, assumes the role of Maid of Honor for her best friend Lillian's (Rudolph) wedding in the film, which was written by Annie Mumolo and Wiig. Annie and Helen (Byrne), Lillian's friend and fellow bridesmaid, do not get along. Instead, an immediate rivalry emerges, resulting in hilarious situations.

Byrne isn't the only Bridesmaids cast member who has publicly expressed a desire to see the funny ladies again. McCarthy, who procured a Foundation Grant selection for Best Supporting Entertainer for her depiction of Megan Rice in the film, as of late said: " I would complete a 'Bridesmaids' spin-off this evening, at the present time.

The most magical thing of all time was that group of women. The majority of us were already extremely close friends. It was, in my opinion, such a magical time." The successful movie made more than $300 million, which earned it a second nomination for Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards.
