Asteroid City: Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hanks film 'stylish


Critics have hailed Wes Anderson's elegant new film Asteroid City as "stylish" yet ailing in substance.


The science fiction praise sees a lesser stargazer show disturbed by world-evolving occasions.


A transport heap of its stars, including Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson, were in circle around the film's debut at the Cannes Film Celebration on Tuesday


Oscar-champ entertainer Hanks strolled honorary pathway with his significant other, entertainer and maker Rita Wilson.


Later, in an Instagram post, Wilson defended Hanks and clarified that her actor husband had only been asking for directions and had struggled to hear the Cannes staff member's response when fans questioned whether he had become irate on the red carpet.


 ''Visually dazzling"


Space rock City sees Johansson lead a gathering cast of Hollywood eminence, including Hanks and Margot Robbie - the two newbies to Anderson's celluloid world - Jason Schwartzman and Tilda Swinton.


The film additionally includes Jeffrey Wright, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody and Steve Carell, who stepped in for Anderson-most loved Bill Murray after he got Coronavirus days before they began recording.

 

In the story, which is set in a fictional American desert town and features Johansson as a 1950s movie icon (think Bette Davis), a group of child geniuses are gathered for a science competition when they are interrupted by an alien visitor and placed in quarantine.


Anderson is most popular for coordinating movies like The Excellent Budapest Lodging and Moonrise Realm.


The Gatekeeper's Peter Bradshaw granted the film four stars, depicting it as an "thrilling victory of unadulterated style" which "inclines pleasantly into its own phony, and each scrumptious, infinitesimal detail is an enjoyment".
