The wait is over. After eight years Aditya Chopra is back to direct a
film with Yash Raj Films production. Who would think that 13 years had
passed since the first time this Jodi came together? At that time, the
director was merely the scion of a great film making family and the star
was best known for taking on negative roles that no one else would.
Then the magic they conjured up in their first film together, redefined
Hindi cinema and set them on their respective paths to the heights of
glory.
After Deepika Padukone in Om Shanti Om, now, Anushka Sharma
is the new Shah Rukh Khan heroine. Aditya Chopra is launching the
19-year-old Bangalore girl for his comeback film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
"We were looking first and foremost for someone who could truly embody
the spirit of small town Punjab and we know we have found her in
Anushka," said Yash Chopra. "And while she has no previous acting
experience, we have seen that unique spark in her that makes us
confident that she will be a standout even opposite Shah Rukh."
After
directing his second film, "Mohabbatein", back in 2000, Aditya had
taken a conscious break from direction to set up and develop India's
first studio model making Yash Raj Films a name to reckon with. In the
years that followed, YRF, under the keen eye of Aditya, produced such
blockbusters as Dhoom, Dhoom:2, Hum Tum, Bunty Aur Babli, Salaam
Namaste, Fanaa and Chak De India. While Aditya was the creative producer
in all these films, he also kept up with his creative juices by writing
his father Yash Chopra's directorial venture Veer-Zaara in 2004, as
well as the stories of other films.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is the
third film directed by Aditya Chopra after eight years. His earlier
direction was Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Mohabbatein (2000)
in which Shahrukh Khan was in lead role, and all knows that both were
super duper hit films.
"Starting the first day of shooting is what
still gives me goose bumps like nothing else," said King Khan. "And to
make films with Yash Raj, that too when Adi is directing, is an
experience that is more than 100% exciting. Yash Raj Films is, and will
always be, home for me and who doesn't love coming home? Yashji and Adi
have always given me roles that have gotten me love and appreciation
from fans all over the world. And this time Adi has again written a
character for me to play that I think will become as beloved as Raj of
DDLJ was. I am going to be trying as usual to hit it out of the park
with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi."
The first official poster of movie Rab
Ne Bana Di Jodi is given in the following site in which Shah Rukh is
looking quite different. The movie poster and the tagline of the film
"There is an extraordinary love story in every ordinary jodi" is making
the film more mysterious one
