Urdu is one of the oldest and richest languages of Indian-subcontinent. It's an important part of the culture of India and Pakistan. We may find people quoting poetry of various poets in day to day work. Urdu poetry particularly in India is so popular that even non-Urdu people fall in love with Urdu ghazal/nazm etc. Poetry is considered one of the best medium to talk to the people as well as one-self. There have been several poets but I like Jigar most as he was full of zeal and was known for his romanticism. He recited poems so beautifully that people wanted to listen to him again and again. He has written so many books on poetry and most of them have been liked by the people. Jigar died in 1958 at Lucknow. He had won the Sahitya Akademi Award in Urdu for his poetry collection aatish-e-gul.
