The "tell all" episode of every
"Bachelor" or "Bachelorette" season is always very telling. If you don't
remember most of the participants' names or details, then it means that
season isn't a very memorable one.
On Monday night's "tell all" episode of Juan Pablo's season, we were pretty much like "wait, who's that?!" for almost all of the women.
But once they did parade out and
started talking — wow, props to them. They didn't hold back. They really
did tell all. And it was not glowing about this season's bachelor. Here
are nine things we learned from "The Women Tell All":
1. Juan Pablo is hot, but not husband material.
Host Chris Harrison rightly
pointed out that this was unlike any "Women Tell All" episode ever. And
he's right. Rather than being sad that they weren't "the one" for Juan
Pablo, most of the women seem to be glad they got the boot. Lauren S.
accused Juan Pablo of not being genuine in his intentions. Granted, we
don't even recall her being on the show. But we do remember Andi, who
thinks Juan Pablo mostly just wanted a girlfriend, not a wife.
2. His "rules" infuriated everyone.
Kat pointed out that he was
always changing the rules about how he behaved — like kissing some
women, but then telling others that he didn't want to give his daughter
the wrong impression.
"I think Juan Pablo used his daughter as an excuse, rather than just saying I'm not there yet," Kelly said.
3. Juan Pablo treated Clare horribly about their late night swim.
We already knew this from having
seen it, but the girls just eviscerate him about blaming Clare. As they
point out, he willingly went along with her swim suggestion. And to
shame her afterward was just cowardly. "He didn't man up the way he
should have," Sharleen said.
4. Juan Pablo isn't dumb.
When Sharleen left, she bemoaned a
lack of a "cerebral connection," but that wasn't because Juan Pablo
isn't smart. In fact, she said, "It's not like our conversation was
non-existent. I found him very curious. He wanted to know about me and
other people and other lifestyles and about my experiences."
5. Renee has moved on!
We have no problem playing
favorites: Renee was tops for us the entire season. Not only was she
beautiful and funny, but she was kind and served as a therapist for the
other girls. So, we were happy to learn that she isn't still hung up on
Juan Pablo. Not all!
"I am in a situation now where
I'm very happy, but that's all I'm gonna say. I don't want to jinx
anything. It's good," she said, grinning ear to ear. Yay!
6. Andi is still looking (because, duh, she's going to be "The Bachelorette").
When Andi was on the hot seat,
she revealed that Juan Pablo was never mean to her. He said things that
hurt her feelings, but she didn't think his intentions were bad. And
mostly, she was bummed out that he was so negative about the entire
process.
Then, Chris asked her if she
stills believes in love. Yes, Andi is going to keep searching for it.
You know, when she's announced as the "Bachelorette."
7. Juan Pablo thinks everything is OK, per usual.
Andi may have found Juan Pablo's
tendency to say "it's OK" annoying, but that's not going to stop him.
When he faced the women, he didn't apologize for his behavior.
"I'd rather not being appreciated being honest than being appreciated not being honest," he said.
We may have derided Kelly's
occupation as a "dog lover," but we loved her sass on "Women Tell All."
She called Juan Pablo out for his comments about a possible gay
"Bachelor" as being too "perverted." She has a gay parent and wanted him
to account for his words.
Juan Pablo first tried to take
the conversation off camera, but Kelly wasn't having it. Then, he gave
the whole "language barrier" excuse, but Veronica (that drunk girl who
Juan Pablo asked to leave) called BS on that.
Finally, he said, "I love gay people. I have no problem with them, because I respect them, because they were born that way."
And Sharleen of all people defended him, saying they talked quite a bit about equality.
9. The women are mostly Team Nikki.
When Chris asked which lady was
the one for Juan Pablo, the majority raised their hands for Nikki. Only a
couple stood up for Clare. Kelly and Sharleen are "always Team Nikki."
Very telling. All in all, this was an illuminating "Women Tell All"
episode.
"The Bachelor" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
