It is kind of difficult to name the best motion pictures of all time if they come from different genres, classifications, or categories. In this regard, let’s focus on one genre only. Let’s focus on five of the best horror movies released in the United States in 2009.

The motion picture “25/8” is one of the best horror movies of 2009. Written by Wes Craven, “25/8” focuses on the return of a murderer to his hometown to kill children whose birthday falls on the date he almost got killed. This horror movie stars Dennis Boutsikaris, Frank Grillo, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps, and Max Thierriot.
Another film that may be considered as one of the best horror movies of 2009 is “Jennifer’s Body.” Written by Diablo Cody, the film focuses on a possessed cheerleader who kills faculty members as well as her fellow classmates. The main character is portrayed by actress Megan Fox and a couple of performers included are Amy Sedaris and J.K. Simmons.
“Giallo” is also one of the best horror movies of 2009. The story evolves on the partnership of an American stewardess with an Italian detective to rescue the former’s sister who was kidnapped by a serial killer. “Giallo” is directed by Dario Argento and written by Sean Keller and Jim Agnew. The actors include Adrian Brody and Elsa Pataky.
“The Wolf Man” is a star-studded horror movie starring Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt. Directed by Joe Johnston and written by Andrew Kevin Walker, other actors starring in this film include Sam Hazeldine, Kiran Shah, Geraldine Chaplin, and Hugo Weaving. Just knowing who the director, writers, and actors are, one would already know that “The Wolf Man” is considered as one of the best horror movies of all time.
With the success of the films “The Evil Dead 1“ and “The Evil Dead 2,” nobody will doubt the success of “Drag Me to Hell” as all these are directed by Sam Raimi. Raimi’s films have always been considered as the best horror movies of all time. In “Drag Me to Hell,” the story starts with a European lady who spells a curse on a young woman. Written by Sam Raimi himself with the help of his brother Ivan, the actors starring in “Drag Me to Hell” include Flor de Maria Chahua, David Paymer, Sage Stallone, Jessica Lucas, Alison Lohman, and Justin Long.
The five horror flicks mentioned are all released in 2009. Indeed, there is still a long list of the best horror movies of all time.
