Stars Spotted During the Golden Globes
At this year's 66th Golden Globe Awards, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made a stir once again as they walked down the red carpet. Both photographers and fans alike were enthusiastically taking photographs of the beautiful couple as they posed and waved to their ardent onlookers. Angelina and Brad were both nominated for major awards (Best Actress and Best Actor) but those awards were ultimately brought home by Kate Winslet (for her role in Revolutionary Road) and Mickey Rourke (for his role in The Wrestler). The other actresses nominated were Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Kristin Scott Thomas. On the other hand, the other actors nominated for Best Actor were Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Frank Langella.
Some Drama Before the Show Even Started
However, even before the Golden Globe Awards even started, some drama was already brewing on the red carpet. Ryan Seacrest, the annoyingly ingratiating host of such shows as American Idol and his very own radio show, decided to speak in his own defense about the A-list couple snubbing his red carpet interview. Seacrest had tried to get an interview for E! by going up to the couple but they just walked by him and gave him the cold shoulder. Later on he mentioned on his radio show that he thought Angelina must not have thought that he was important and added defensively, "I don't think I'm top of mind for Brad and Angelina. I honestly don't believe they'd know who I was if I walked over there." To address why Brad and Angelina decided to give an interview to his rival Billy Bush from NBC instead, he just owed it all to the NBC connection. "There's an NBC deal there. NBC hosted the Globes, and they have a deal to talk to the people who come to the Globes" said Seacrest. Seacrest even added that he had learned something from the experience: "I realized quickly that it's against the rules to walk down onto the carpet from the platform."
The Reason Seacrest Deserves Angelina's Snub
However, Angelina has granted Seacrest an interview before. During the Golden Globes two years ago, which he asked her what she had given her children for breakfast and all she said was cereal. Afterwards, he called her "cold" for her chilly response. The public would later find out that at around the time of that interview, Angelina's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, was dying of ovarian cancer.
