entertainers lined up for release in 2010. But the brand name that Aamir
has created in the last few years is such, that even films produced
under his banner carry huge expectations. Here are all the films lined
up for release in 2010, with Aamir Khan either as the actor or producer.
3 Idiots - Rajkumar Hirani's movie is based upon Chetan Bhagat's novel "Five Point Someone ". Released on 25th Dec, 2009 and is all time blockbuster. It has got an amazing star cast, starring Aamir Khan as Rancho, Kareena Kapoor as Neha Kurien, Sharman Joshi as Alok, Madhavan as Hari and Boman Irani as Professor Kurien.
Synopsis: Aamir as Rancho, an adventurous and intelligent young man, loves his friends more than anything else. Instead of being a book worm like other of his college mates, he prefers to focus on practical knowledge, With his new ways he not only get knowledge but also high grades. He believes in doing things his way, and ends up having five pointers as his GPA. He is average at studies (pretty bad/funny at viva.) He falls in love with Neha Kurien (his Professor's daughter). He always messes up when he attempts to impress Mr Kurien (his professor).
Alok is a simple boy who wants to get good grades and earn money to overcome poverty of his family.
Shantanu Moitra (of Parineeta fame) is working on the music for the movie, the lyrics of which is by Swanand Kirkire. The movie has a strong message: Don't just mug up things, it can give you marks in college life but there are greater things to achieve in life than just a few extra marks. It has some well taught lessons for teachers as well. Some jokes in the movie are old but they are presented in such a way that they not only feel fresh but also give you a laugh. That's the most important element of the move, presentation. Raj Kumar Hirani has excelled in this area. Timing and presentation is such, that nothing looks forced and old in this movie.
Peepli Live - The movie is Produced under Aamir's banner Aamir Khan Productions. It is directed Anusha Rizvi. As a director this is Anusha first movie Peepli Live is about the innumerable suicides by farmers in rural India.
Delhi Belly - It is romantic comedy directed by Abhinav Deo. Unlike his first file.Imran Khan, couldn't do as well as he did in debut Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. Also in main role are Shenaz Treasurywala, Vir Das, and Vijay Raaz, Aamir Khan is in a special appearance. Delhi Belly is a comedy movie about characters/residents of Delhi.
Dhobi Ghat - This film is schedule to be released on Jan 31 2010. At this stage not much is known about this film. Aamir plays the lead role in the movie. This movie is not meant for masses but for people with special interest. It is sensitive movie and not a typical bollywood masala.. Prateik Babbar of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na fame also has a major role to play. Dhobi Ghat is directed by Aamir's wife Kiran Rao..The musical score of Dhobi Ghaat is composed by Argentinian composer Gustavo Santaolalla.
