When they reach their peak, Bollywood actresses have the biggest issue at hand. Who to marry? With the kind of lifestyle that they are used to, they can’t obviously go for someone beneath their financial status. So, it is a kind of a challenge for them to find and hook someone who’s not only much above their status, but also good looking enough to make them look like a great pair. While some have failed miserably in this quest, some have managed to actually get the right man. Here’s our pick of smart Bollywood women, who were ‘lucky’ enough to get the right one.
Tina Munim with Anil Ambani: This couple needs no introduction. Tina Ambani, wife of billionaire Anil Ambani was a successful Bollywood actress back in the 80's. Ambani, as the world knows, is one of the richest Indians in the world. It is said that the Ambani family was not too happy about an actress bahu, so Tina had to quit films and go abroad for a few years, before she could come back and be accepted. However, all’s well that ends well.
Amrita Arora with Shakeel Ladak: Following Amrita Arora's hasty marriage announcement to beau Shakeel Ladak, tongues started wagging about what really prompted Amrita to take the wedding vows in such a hurry. Amrita's immediate pregnancy pretty much confirmed the reason of her sudden wedding. Shakeel Ladak is director of Mumbai based construction company Redstone Group.
Urvashi Sharma with Sachin Joshi: The actress tied the knot with her entrepreneur and actor boyfriend Sachiin Joshi recently. Sachiin, who made his debut with ‘Aazaan’ few months back, is still to find a foothold in Bollywood, but is steady with his finances as the vice-chairman of his group that is into hospitality and more.
Reema Sen with Shiv Karan Singh: The ‘Malamaal Weekly’ actress who kept denying rumours about her affair with a businessman, eventually took the plunge and married a Delhi-based hotelier Shiv Karan Singh in March this year.
Raveena Tandon with Anil Tandani: The actress who dated Akshay Kumar many years ago, found perfect partner and security in a reputed businessman. She married prominent film distributor Anil Thadani â€" they’d fallen in love during the making of her film ‘Stumped’.
Kim Sharma with Anil Punjani: Heart-broken after her split with cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Kim Sharma eventually married Ali Punjani in August 2010. Ali, 38, is of Indian origin but his family has been living in Kenya for many generations. Apparently, He is one of the most important people in Kenya and has a finger in every business there -- from real estate to finance.
Juhi Chawla with Jay Mehta: It is said that Jai Mehta, a wealthy businessman was chosen for Juhi by her mother and Juhi obliged as she was very attached to her mother. It was also rumoured that she wasn't happy with her marriage, but those rumours seem to have subsided as she continues flashing those dazzling smiles of hers.
Ayesha Takia with Farhan Azmi: The pretty Ayesha Takia found comfort in the arms of restaurateur Farhan Azmi. They got married in March 2009. Son of politician Abu Azmi, Farhan, who is also a builder, contested elections in 2010. Farhan also owns ‘Café Basilico’ and ‘Koyla’ in Mumbai.
Esha Koppikar with Timmy Narang: After her relationship with struggling actor Inder Kumar went kaput, Isha Koppikar decided to get hooked for life with restaurateur Timmy Narang. She married Timmy Narang in 2009. The last we heard, the lady is all set to start her own range of restaurants.
Manyata with Sanjay Dutt: Manyata, a small time actress mostly known for an item number in Prakash Jha's ‘Gangajal’ married Sanjay Dutt. This was Dutt's third marriage after his divorce with former model Rhea Pillai. She has moved seamlessly from glamour to luxury.
