Hot Gossip Celebrites : Celebs Go Red For Women

We can't imagine what it must feel like to plan to compete in the Olympics, only to have to back out at the last minute due to injury. But skier Lindsey Vonn isn't wallowing in her disappointment – instead, she proudly hobbled down the runway decked in a Cynthia Rowley dress, her own flat shoes, and a set of crutches at the Go Red for Women/The Heart Truth Red Dress Collection fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City to raise awareness for women's heart disease. Not surprisingly, she earned the evening's biggest cheers.

"I'm nervous," Vonn told reporters backstage before stepping onto the runway. "I really thought I would be in Russia right now." Clearly, she's still a champ.

he lovely ladies who came together for such a great cause clearly had a ball. When they took their final struts down the catwalk as a group, an impromptu dance party broke out, creating perhaps the most beautiful logjam in the history of foreverdom.
If anyone wants to send a thank you note for that end-of-show dance party, it can be addressed to Ireland Baldwin, Bella Thorne, and AnnaSophia Robb, who kicked off all that booty-shaking.
This is how Joan Jett does a red dress… and it rocks. Obviously. The rocker was just as much a hit backstage as she was on the runway, with people – celebs and otherwise – getting really excited whenever she walked by.
Ireland Baldwin wants to be an A-list model and that was abundantly clear as she opened the show. The daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger also stood taller than most backstage and was seen showing off her new tattoos. "Vampire Diaries" star Kat Graham took over our Instagram and then took over the runway, channeling her inner Naomi Campbell and bringing a sass that had the crowd cheering.
NeNe Leakes didn't come to mess around. The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" brought a fresh attitude – emphasis on the attitude – to her walk and clearly loved every second of it.
Colbie Caillat, who wore a vegan Nicole Miller number, shared her inspiration: "It's such an amazing cause that brought an awareness to me – I didn't realize that heart disease is the number one killer of women," she told Yahoo. "And when they told me it is preventable, whatever I can do to spread the word about that and bring awareness to women around the world, is so important."
"Suits" star Gina Torres worked that runway with intention, and when she reached the top, she posed like a pro and did a couple tango steps to make sure the train of her dress didn't trip her going the other direction. Orange may be the new black, but Taryn Manning in red is the new awesome. The actress worked it on the runway and made sure to take home the cool, red embroidered robe Macy's (one of the evening's sponsors, along with Subway) gave to each of the women who participated.
Seeing as the event was all about hearts, which are essentially all about blood, it made perfect sense that "True Blood" star Rutina Wesley get her turn to sashay. She couldn't help herself from dancing as she showed off her Max Azria creation.
"The Carrie Diaries" starlet AnnaSophia Robb brought the adorable as she showed off a sweet number from Alice + Olivia. Olympic figure skater Sasha Cohen glided down the runway much to the delight of the crowd at Lincoln Center. That Marc Bouwer dress was smokin' and she looked breathtaking in it.Victoria Justice, looking sweet in Oscar de la Renta, had what might've been the most bashful strut of the bunch, which kind of made the 20-year-old all the more endearing. Anika Noni Rose is known for her role in "Dreamgirls" and she showed off her inner diva as she pantomimed "One Night Only" down the runway in her Pamella Roland frock. Former "Law & Order" star Jill Hennessy's excitement as she showed off her Dennis Basso creation was palpable, and it turns out, she's been wanting to be a part of the annual event for three years. "This year, the timing worked," she told us backstage, admitting she was a bit nervous. "I practiced my walk but I didn't practice with the dress. It's a mermaid dress which falls in front of your feet. So it will be interesting." Making matters even more interesting, the back of Hennessy's dress required some seriously last-minute alterations – she was being stitched up mere moments before strutting her stuff. Eight months pregnant and not lacking in an ounce of confidence, "The Chew" host Daphne Oz had energy for days as she showed off her bump – and bumpin' dance moves – in a Sarah Liller gown. Celebrity chef Giada de Laurentiis cooked up oohs and ahhs in her gorgeous Carolina Herrera dress. Joan Van Ark, the sometimes Valene Ewing from "Dallas" and "Knots Landing," clearly had some flare. These stars could look good in any color, but seeing them all together in red for such an important cause was simply stunning. Star Jones is the American Heart Association National Volunteer and spoke about her devotion to the cause just before the runway opened for business.
