Beyoncé stunned at the 2014 Brit Awards — just with the power of her voice.
The pop star performed the up-tempo love song “XO” at the music awards
show Wednesday, the first time she has sang the track live on
television.
“How you all feeling?” she said prior to her performance. “I’d like to
dedicate this song to all my incredible fans. I love you all. Sing along
with me tonight, alright?”
Beyoncé looked elegant on the Brit Awards stage, sporting long, blond tresses and a glittering blue gown, which E! Online reports was a Vrettos Vrettakos gown that featured 400,000 blue zircon crystals.
Unlike her Grammy performance of “Drunk in Love,”
which featured the star indulging in a sexy chair dance and guest
appearance from husband Jay-Z, Beyoncé’s performance of “XO” was a
showcase for her powerhouse vocals. She took the stage solo, and gave an
impassioned performance as images of fireworks and lasers flashed
behind her.
The album track had been a source of controversy for the star because
it included a six-second audio clip from the 1986 NASA Challenger
explosion. After she received criticism for including the clip, Beyoncé
issued an apology.
