Hot Gossip : Former judge Jackson describes the boot camp as a “master class," while Lambert says, “It’s like a head start. It’s a real eye-opener to what they are going to be facing on the show.”
Added Daughtry, in a video released by the Fox show: “You always have
these ideas of what you would say to them when you are watching, and
now I get to actually share what I’ve learned being on the show, after
the show, being on the road. All these things that go into play when it
comes to performing, and I’m glad to pass on the knowledge.”
Daughtry praised the workshop -- which not only involves voice coaches, but stylists, movement coaches and musicians -- as “extremely helpful."
“We never got any of that when I was on the show,” said Daughtry. “Everyone has a real fair shot of moving on to that next level.”
Indeed, Lambert believes the workshops will better prepare the kids for the live shows. "So much of the first couple of rounds of competition is a guessing game," he said. "It's high time something like this came around for this show. I think this round of contestants are really going to wow America this year -- right away, first week!"
Needless to say, both Lambert fans and former Idols are excited to see the season eight runner-up back in the Idol fold. As season 10 alum Casey Abrams recently told The Hollywood Reporter: "Adam is the reason I went on the show ... because he did this awesome version of ‘Ring of Fire’ that I had never heard before. And he was the one who changed up the most. He made me think that I can go on American Idol and play the bass.”
