Actress
Sonakshi Sinha, image consultant Chhaya Momaya and Sunil Joshan,
Director, Sanchit Art, come together to support artist Neeraj Goswami's
solo show, titled Penetralia. Patna-born Neeraj has been in great demand
as a muralist and a portrait painter.
His works are part of museum collections around the country including the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, as well as private collections in India and abroad. Speaking on the occasion, Sonakshi said, "Few people know that I am also an artist, I truly enjoy sketching and drawing. I was drawn to Neeraj Goswami's strong lines and bold strokes. It is amazing to see such strength in the technique and yet the paintings seem to emanate a meditative calm." Chhaya too was quite impressed. "I was mesmerised by Neeraj's art from the moment I saw it. I think each of his works display myriad human expressions. They are sure to add a unique dimension to any space they are displayed in," she said.
Sunil said, "Neeraj's painterly journey starts deep inside his mind, during his daily meditation, in which images emerge in his purified soul. His paintings reveal this gradual growth taking place on the surface of his canvases with ever-increasing clarity of thought and matching execution."
Sanchit Art Gallery has expressed immense faith in Neeraj, whose show they are presenting. The preview (by invitation only) is scheduled today and the show will be open to public from tomorrow till February 11 at the Auditorium Hall, Jehangir Art Gallery. Sonkashi will be present at the preview to encourage and support the artist.
