When Selena Gomez
entered rehab on Jan. 5, she was supposed to stay for a six-week
program. It's now being reported that by leaving after only two weeks,
the "Wizards of Waverly Place" star went against doctor's suggestions.
TMZ reports the new development per sources close to the star. Apparently there were "strenuous objections" against Gomez's departure from Dawn at the Meadows in Wickenburg, Ariz. Her early exit from the rehab facility was so she could attend Sundance Film Festival, but sources say she decided she had no reason to return.
Additionally, TMZ's insiders claim Gomez went to rehab for "alcohol, pot and Rx Ambien," in addition to her "unhealthy union with Justin Bieber." That goes against what Gomez's reps say, which is: "Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse."
One friend who doesn't seem to care about the cause of Gomez's rehab stint or the fact that she left early is Demi Lovato. The fellow former Disney star took to Twitter to offer words of support for Gomez.
