Ayesha Takia [http://www.ayeshatakiapics.com/] was born on April 10,
1986 in Mumbai and grew up there. She completed her schooling from St.
Anthony's High School but didn't pursue higher studies as she was bitten
by the glam bug of entertainment. Due to her Gujarati and Anglo-Indian
Muslim upbringing, she had trouble speaking Hindi but dutifully
practiced it alongwith Telugu for her movie career.
At the age of fifteen, Ayesha Takia appeared in a television advertisement of Complan alongside Shahid Kapoor and also in a music video, Falguni Pathak's Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye. It was followed by another music video appearance in the form of Shake It Daddy and that too when she was just sixteen.
The time was just right for Ayesha and soon it was Bollywood calling for her. She was initially signed first for Socha Na Tha and later Tarzan: The Wonder Car. But the former got delayed and Tarzan: The Wonder Car became her debut movie which even earned her Filmfare Best Debut Award in 2004.
After this came a spat of flop movies which lowered Ayesha Takia's career a bit but it soon got revived by 'Dil Maange More' and 'Shaadi No.1' where her performances were deeply appreciated by the teenagers. She also appeared in a 2006 Telugu movie named 'Robbery', which was later dubbed into Hindi and released as 'Super'.
The turning point in her career came with Nagesh Kukunoor's Dor in 2005 where she proved her acting mettle with a portrayal of a non glamorous though head strong widow in a small village of Rajasthan. It got her rave reviews from critic and won most of the awards that year for in the Best Actress critics category.
Her upcoming movies include Boney Kapoor's Wanted Dead And Alive with Salman Khan, Eight By Ten opposite Akshay Kumar and Paathshaala opposite Shahid Kapoor. Ayesha Takia has announced to the world about her marriage places with long time boyfriend Farhan Azmi early next year with whom she has also started a boutique hotel business.
